TRUSTED FACTORYFLOW

Warehouse decisions grounded in stock records

Coordinate receipt, quality, putaway, reservation and shipping around one defined inventory owner.

Goods reached the dock. When are they usable for production?

The bottleneck to resolve

A delivery note does not establish received quantity or released quality. When items, lots, locations and documents are disconnected, reported stock may not be usable. Differences then propagate into outbound work or counts and require correction after ERP transactions have already progressed.

Assess a materials or finished-goods warehouse needing location/lot/serial trace. Select FactoryFlow WMS or retain the existing WMS; WCS participates only where execution is integrated.

Where does the operating flow change?

TYPICAL CURRENT STATE

Disconnected information.

Receiving, QC and putaway are recorded separately. Aggregate stock hides held or unconfirmed goods; shortages appear only at picking.

REFERENCE CONFIGURATION

Explicit confirmation milestones.

Physical counts and discrepancies link to ASN/PO. Quality owns release and putaway confirms location. Reservations and outbound work use eligible quantities only.

Follow one demand to its outcome.

Warehouse supervisor · receiving/shipping · inventory control · quality · ERP owner

ASN-020 → GRN-020 → LOT-020 → TASK-020
  1. 01

Check ASN-020 for 40 expected EA against item, UOM and source documents.

  2. 02

Count 38 EA and retain the 2 EA shortage against GRN-020 for separate disposition.

  3. 03

Hold LOT-020 pending QC; only released quantity can enter allocatable stock.

  4. 04

Release TASK-020 for B-03; scan the destination and post under WMS authority.

When work does not follow the expected path.

Each blocker has its own data, authority and resumption conditions.

01

Count below ASN

Keep observed and expected quantities distinct with reason and documents. Warehouse and procurement/vendor teams resolve the shortage without changing receipt to full.

02

Quality-held lot

Quality authorizes quarantine, return or release. WMS blocks allocation while pending; moving a pallet does not authorize use.

03

ERP/WMS discrepancy

Compare transaction IDs, quantity, UOM and posting timestamps. The ledger owner chooses adjustment or feedback retry; adapters cannot invent compensation.

Inspect data at each decision milestone.

One illustrated journey, not a customer case or live operating session.

Measure the right problem before scaling.

Measures to agree for the pilot, not promised improvement levels.

01

Dock-to-stock

From the agreed receiving milestone to usable stock at location; separate QC waiting time.

02

Inventory accuracy

Compare scoped counts at explicit timestamps, not unrelated snapshots.

03

Correct and complete shipping

Separate item/lot mismatch, shortages and packing errors against outbound orders.

Initial scope and expansion conditions.

A pilot with explicit outputs

Select a receiving/QC/putaway flow and representative outbound flow. Normalize codes, UOM and locations, define the stock owner and test shortages, QC holds, short picks and recounts. Accept source documents and ledger outcomes, not merely completed task screens.

Conditional expansion

Extend by area and item group after validating quality, quarantine, capacity and enterprise reconciliation rules. Assess slotting or allocation-policy scope separately; SKU data alone does not establish those capabilities.
